The board of Airline Representatives in Germany (Barig) and the German Travel Association (DRV) want to work closer in future. "We have a lot of topics in common about which we already talk, but from now on we will communicate them more to the outside", said Barig Secretary General Martin Gaebges. There are topics as the German ticket tax, climate protection in tourism, questions about travel law or development of computer reservation systems and operating schedules that affect DRV members as well as Barig members. more
"Shared goals are the assurance of a fair and climate friendly competition, an optimized crisis management concerning unexpected incidents or in cases of Acts of God, as well as improvement in efficiency in the operating schedules between the travel service providers" explained DRV Chief Executive Officer Koch the negative impacts caused by the increasing costs.
Amongst stronger lobby work on the German and European level it is planed to intensify the collaboration concerning the implementation of sustainability goals and international standardized concepts for security with shorter waiting periods at airports. EU rights concerning the customer protection and questions of intermodal traffic concepts where all types of traffic are connected and planned as well.
